This stock medical exhibit begins with an image of the distal right arm and hand showing multiple fractures and a large open avulsive wound of the forearm. Next, multiple steps of the surgical fixation are illustrated in graphic detail, including irrigation and debridement of the open wound, incision in the forearm and reduction and placement of a fixation plate over the radial fracture. Finally, an artist's interpretation of an actual post-operative x-ray shows all fixation hardware in place.
