Description: This 3D medical animation contrasts correct vs. incorrect application of stereotactic radiation dosages, to areas of the brain. The initial correct sequence shows a 'Laser' type radiation beam pin pointing the left trigeminal nerve, and a small meningioma on the left cerebellar region. Alternately, a second sequence shows a similar process with a much larger than recommended dosage. The larger 'flashlight' type beam is seen irradiating both the target site, as well as a large region of the surrounding brain. The radiation overdose results in the patient experiencing widespread necrosis and permanent brain damage.
