The first illustration shows the post-accident condition in an anterior view of the skull, including displaced left nasal bone fractures with a deviated septum and a displaced, complex tripod fracture involving the left fronto-zygomatic region, orbital floor and maxillary sinus. The second illustration depicts a cut-away view of the skull, showing the collapse of the orbital contents into the left maxillary sinus. The fourth illustration shows placement of a fixation plate and screws to secure the infra-orbital maxillary sinus fractures. The fifth illustration shows placement of bone graft from the fractured maxillary wall into the orbital floor for support. The seventh illustration is a 3-dimensional film depicting the post-operative skull fixation.
