Nonunion of Left Lower Leg Fractures

ID: exh82393b
This is a custom exhibit that includes a pre-operative view and five surgical steps, with the inclusion of an actual photograph of the client’s post-operative condition. The pre-operative view shows a zoomed in film interpretation of the uneven healing of the fractured fibula and tibia. The surgical steps include the taking of autograft from the left iliac crest, the removal of the affected area of the fibula, the drilling of holes into the site of the affected bone, the placement of bone graft to connect the bones together with a bridge of graft. The last images show the insertion of the external ring hardware using an interpretation drawing posteriorly to match the other steps, but also an actual photograph of the client’s leg from the anterior side.
