Description: This is a single custom board with six illustrations. The first two depict the pre-operative condition of a burst fracture at L1 in both a lateral and sagittal view. These views are based on actual films provided.

The next three images illustrate some of the steps taken to correct the fracture. First a midline incision is made from T11 to L3 to expose the vertebrae. Then after the bony fragments have been removed, pedicle screws are placed bilaterally in the surrounding vertebrae. Finally rods and cross connectors are inserted and secured and surrounded by bone graft.

The last image is a film interpretation of the post-operative condition at a lateral view with all the fusion hardware in place.
