Description: This exhibit depicts a female with rectus muscle diastasis developed during her pregnancy stage (Post Pregnancy Diastasis Recti) and within the diastasis there is a hole next to the umbilicus where abdominal content is protruding through the ventral wall. Next to this images presented in cross-section and front view, are the same images showing the repair. Two rows of continuous sutures are used to bring together the rectus muscles to the midline and to close the hernia defect.
