Complex Scar Revision and Tendon Transfer
This medical exhibit features an anterior view of the complex scar revision. This is an anterior view of the complex scar to the right upper extremity and the right breast. The scar tissue tethering constricting the biceps and triceps, the radial nerve laceration causing the lack of wrist extension ( contracture) and the scarring of the right breast causing deformity are included. The key steps in the surgical procedure are illustrated in graphic detail. These include the scar revision ( 15 cm), biceps tendon lengthening, the excision of the excess skin on the posterior aspect of the right arm, and the tendon transfer from the right flexor carpi ulnaris to the right extensor carpi radials brevis.
