Bilateral Shoulder Injuries and Surgical Repairs

ID: exh40425
This stock medical exhibit presents bilateral shoulder injuries and surgical repairs. First, the pre-operative condition is illustrated using an anterior view. Two insets each focus on a different shoulder, clearly demonstrating the fracture parts on each humerus. The humeral head, humeral shaft, and fracture parts are clearly labeled. Next, an incision is shown in the front of the right shoulder, exposing the fracture site. Then, the removal of the humeral head and enlargement of the medullary canal of the humeral shaft are illustrated. The last image depicts the fitting of a Biomet humeral stem and head into the humeral shaft, and it is indicated that a similar procedure is performed on the left side.
