Description: This exhibit begins with a silhouette view of the upper body of an elderly male figure from the head down to the torso. Within this silhouette, we show an anterior cut-away view of the upper digestive system including the oral passage, esophagus, stomach and duodenum. An endoscope is in place through the mouth, down the esophagus and into the stomach, and the PEG tube in place through the stomach and out the abdominal wall. Three surgical steps depict the initial step with a snare from the endoscope grasping the bumper of the PEG tube. Next step with the PEG tube cut as the external portion is removed.
